Karelian Research Centre RAS hosted the workshop “Practical opportunities for cooperation in the Barents Region”
On May 19, 2017 Karelian Research Centre RAS hosted the workshop “Practical opportunities for cooperation in the Barents Region” within the International Summer School in Karelia (ISSK 2017) “Perceptions of the Arctic and Barents Sea Region”. The School was co-organized by Petrozavodsk State University, University of Lapland, and Aleksanteri Institute at the University of Helsinki. The organizers of the workshop were Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences and non-profit partnership North-Centre.

The workshop was organized in the form of a game simulating the preparation and defending of a project application. The exercise, as its participants pointed out, would help students gain practical skills for working out international projects, and better understand aims and tasks of cooperation directed towards sustainable development of the Northern regions.
