Papers about various issues of cross-border cooperation and regional development are discussed. The main focus is on aspects of the international projects aimed at the development of border areas. The main factors for tourism and recreational appeal are defined. We conclude that cross.border cooperation is essential for sustainable regional development and integration. Tourism development can be considered as a line of regional cooperation diversification. We believe comprehensive application of the above principles will help generate good conditions for the development of tourism and recreation areas at the border.
