The results of surveys of zooplankton and macrozoobenthos in nine model lakes lying in different landscapes of the boreal zone, carried out within integrated hydrobiological studies, are reported. Patterns in the formation and development of the communities in reservoirs set in catchment areas differing in landscape characteristics are considered.
