The paper is a review of the principal research areas and developments related to generation and efficient use of digital scientific information resources meant to provide support to basic research, education and innovative activities using Internet technologies. Problems of establishing the Shared information system of the Karelian Research Centre of RAS as a component part of the Shared Scientific Information Space of the Russian Academy of Science are considered. Special focus is on building the digital library of scientific information resources for Karelian Research Centre of RAS.
