The author gives some examples of Karelian industrial minerals to discuss two orders of typomorphic characters used to more reliably predict the behaviour of minerals in technological processes. Detailed studies of industrial minerals from some deposits and occurrences have shown how important it is to reveal the typomorphic characters of metamorphic and magmatic minerals. Typomorphic properties were shown to affect the recycling indices of some Karelian industrial minerals. Examples of kyanite and apatite deposits are given to show the effect of geological and mineralogical factors on the formation of natural ore types.
