The author provides arguments in favour of methods for evaluation of new areas and prospects for the occurrence of raremetal pegmatite and granite deposits, either unexposed by erosion or buried. It seems promising to conduct such studies in Karelia and on the Kola Peninsula, where it is recommended to carry out the additional study and experimental-economic exploitation of
tantalum-bearing and prospected complex rare-metal pegmatite occurrences at the NW flank of the Kolmozero-Voronyetundrovskaya vein zone and the phthoride-yttrium-tantalum pegmatoid facies of alkaline-granitic intrusions in Keivy etc.
