The article (paper) states the main factors which determine the level of knowledge about the resource base of highsiliceous, mostly quartz raw material in Russian Federation. Nowadays, regarding the more serious requirements of consuming industries to this material the level of knowledge is not sufficient. This article offers a detailed method for technological classification of quartz raw material at the level of quartz composition in a rock piece (concentrate) used in hydrothermal synthesis processes (from resource saving point of view).
