Conference with international participation, devoted to K. Arseniev ‘Problems of Economic Geography and Spatial Development Statistics’
The aim of the conference
is to involve a wide range of experts from Russia and abroad in discussing the issues of regional and local socio-economic development, modern economic geography and spatial planning, improvement and promotion of regional and municipal statistics.Background.
The conference is biennial, honouring the memory of a prominent Russian economic geographer, statistician, and enthusiastic educationalist K. Arseniev (1789-1865). His versatile scientific activities and love to the City of Petrozavodsk and Karelia became a motivation for establishing a conference in memory of his scientific and public work and in recognition of his contribution to Russian and world science. The conference has beenheld in Petrozavodsk since 1995.Conference participants.
