Olga Bakhmet, KarRC RAS CEO, shared information from the General Assembly of Fellows of the Russian Academy of Sciences she attended
Corresponding Fellow of the Russian Academy of Sciences and KarRC RAS CEO Olga Bakhmet took part in the General Assembly of Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The General Assembly is a pivotal event in the life of the academic community, where progress is reviewed and the strategy for the development of science in Russia is determined. Traditionally, the annual reporting session is held in spring, while a scientific session takes place in autumn or winter.

Delegation of the Geographical Society of China visited Karelian Research Centre RAS
A delegation from the Geographical Society of China visited the Karelian Research Centre RAS. The visit included getting familiar with the KarRC RAS, a tour of the Educational Centre “Museum of Applied Environmental Research", and a roundtable session for Karelian and Chinese scientists.

Issue #4 of the journal Transactions of KarRC RAS, dealing with limnology and oceanology, is out of press
This year’s fourth issue of the journal Transactions of the Karelian Research Centre RAS, Limnology and Oceanology Series, has been released. This issue features articles by Russian scientists reporting the results of research on lakes in Karelia, Arkhangelsk and Murmansk Regions, the White Sea, and the Arctic Ocean, as well as materials dedicated to the renowned scientist, geographer, and statistician Konstantin Arsenyev, and details on the Winter Limnology School and Workshop – 2026.
