The article is devoted to the image of Izhevsk in Udmurt poetry of the 1990s, represented through artistic pictures of the world of M. Fedotov, V. Shibanov, P. Zakharov. Cross.cutting urban motifs, images, their semantic faces were identified, an attempt was made to read the “psychological texts” of the city. In Udmurt literature at the turn of the century Izhevsk has obviously become a key literary symbol in the artistic perception, which synthesized Udmurt mythological ideas, authors’ imagination, and the reality of urban life in the 1990s.
