Global optimization algorithms genetic algorithms and pattern search algorithms together with maximum entropy and least square methods were applied to decompose complex distributions into components. The goal of these algorithms is to reveal the probable structure of the blurred distributions and estimate their parameters. Algorithms were tested on the models and used to determine the structures of complex IR spectra of minerals X-ray diagrams of amorphous materials and a selection of geophysical anomalies.
