The term «destination» came into the thesaurus of the tourism in the beginning of the XIX century. In the article, the author considers transformation of this term through the time. Observing methodological changes in the term of «destination» through semantics and developing of definitions according to the terms «marketing», «heritage», «landscape», the author leads to classification of destinations.
