The paper presents some results of permanent plot studies of the chemical composition of atmospheric precipitation in undisturbed pine and birch forests of the region (Kivach Strict Nature Reserve, middle taiga, Republic of Karelia) carried out in 1996–2000. Problems of precipitation transformation by forest canopy are considered.
