The geological and petrological characteristics of ultrametagenic and intrusive enderbites, generated during the regional migmatization and granitization period and considered as a part of Karelian Archean granulite-enderbite-charnockite complexes, are discussed and generalized for the first time. Chemical and microprobe analyses have shown that the PTparameters of enderbite formation (750-870.C and moderate to low pressures) coincide with those of granulitic rocks in each of the GEC-complexes. Enderbites are shown to have played a key role in granulitic amphibolization during the metamorphic evolution of GEC-complexes.
