Director General of the Karelian Research Centre RAS Olga Bakhmet takes part in the 9th Forum of Belarusian and Russian Regions. KarRC RAS leader has presented the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in greenhouse gas monitoring.
On June 30th – July 1st Grodno (Republic of Belarus) is hosting the 9th Forum of Belarusian and Russian Regions. It focuses on discussing the role of interregional cooperation in deepening integration processes in the Union State.

The forum included the session “Common R&D space of Russia and Belarus as a way to ensure global competitive advantage and security of the Union State”. It was attended by members of the Federation Council under the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Council of the Republic under the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Russian Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Natalya Bocharova, RAS Vice President and Head of the Siberian Branch RAS Valentin Parmon, Director General of KarRC RAS and member of the Russia-Belarus Inter-academy Council Olga Bakhmet, and other experts.

Leader of the Karelian Research Centre RAS made a presentation on the "Prospects for Russian-Belarusian cooperation in greenhouse gas monitoring”.



Wrapping up the session, its participants formulated recommendations on promoting the common R&D space of Russia and Belarus as a way to ensure global competitive advantage and security of the Union State.
