Surina, Elena Development of scenarios of adaptation of system of conducting forestry in Arkhangelsk region

In the Arkhangelsk region is concentrated the largest in the North-West Federal district area of disturbed and weakened forest stands – it was 1237,6 thous. ha. In the forest fund at January 01, 2015 (5.7% of the area covered with forest vegetation area). Lost stands are 692,8 thous. ha (Short review sanitary and pathologic conditions …., 2015).
The beginning of decline spruce forests is dated 1997. Feature of drying spruce forests there is high age. Matured and over matured forest stands occupy 77,4 % of the spruce area. At accumulation of over matured forests lose stability. This factor is defining.
Scientists of NRIF conducted researches as directly in area between northern Dvina and Pinegi, and in more northern areas of Pinezhsky and Leshukonsky forest areas for the purpose of distribution studying of spruce decline (2009, 2011-2012-s). By results of researches have established that spruce decline has already fallen outside the limits between Northern Dvina and Pinegi. The abnormal destruction has noted even in the Leshukonsky forest area in 2012. Among climatic features of region, it is necessary to mention adverse weather conditions, in particular strong a wind. The almost annually maximum speed of a wind reaches critical sizes.
Adverse weather conditions both soil-climatic factors and forest fires became a principal cause of easing and destruction of forests of the Arkhangelsk region as well as in previous years.
Now the situation in forest area remains stable.
It is necessary to develop scenarios of adaptation of system of forest management in the Arkhangelsk region as one of possible ways of conservation and enhancement of environmental and socio-economic values of forest.
