Transactions of KarRC RAS Journal included in RSCI core
The Journal “Transaction of KarRC RAS” has been included in RSCI core. This means that after strict selection by experts, the outlet was listed among the most reputable journals that constitute the core of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). Many Russian journals from RSCI core are indexed in foreign scientometric databases Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus. This, as it is commonly believed, improves the evaluation of the scientific articles published therein.

Karelian scientists presented their developments at TechInnoProm 2024 exhibition in Minsk
The 2nd Innovation Forum. Russia-Belarus, co-organized by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the National Academy of the Republic of Belarus, is taking place in Minsk. Scientists from the Karelian Research Center RAS are taking part. At the forum, Olga Bakhmet, KarRC RAS Acting Director General, talked about the innovations and applied developments of Karelian scientists. Researchers presented their patented developments - laser analyzers of granule and droplet dimensions, as well as a hybrid filler for composite materials - at TechInnoProm exhibition.

Scientific research in the Arctic in the focus of attention of BRICS scientists and experts
Research lines of high relevance for the Arctic zone, their prospects and the opportunities of using the experience and developments of cross-border cooperation were discussed at the Karelian Research Center RAS during the roundtable session “BRICS+ as a platform for joint research in the Arctic”. The event took place on September 19 during the international conference “Regional cooperation within the BRICS: modern environmental and nature management issues”. The roundtable gathered researchers, experts and officials.

The first industrial curly birch crop to be planted in the republic
Karelian Research Center RAS employees prepared planting stock of curly birch for its first industrial-scale crop. The plantation will be created under the three-party cooperation agreement between the Karelian Research Center RAS, the Ministry of Natural Resources of Karelia and Segezha Group PJSC.

Young scientists from Russia and China discussed the methods of studying carbon in natural ecosystems
Young scientists' workshop on estimating carbon pools and fluxes in natural ecosystems took place within the forum “Regional cooperation within the BRICS”. Researchers from KarRC RAS told about methods of monitoring carbon stocks and greenhouse gas fluxes in forest ecosystems and lakes of Karelia, as well as demonstrated a gas analyzer designed at the Laboratory for Ecological Monitoring and Modeling of the Department for Multidisciplinary Research KarRC RAS.

Researchers from KarRC RAS together with colleagues from other regions and countries study global processes and predict their consequences. They told about the results of these activities at the thematic session “Water and terrestrial ecosystems research under climate change and human impact in BRICS member states” within the international conference at KarRC RAS on 19th September.
